In 1999 the club celebrated its 75th Jubilee with a major Community Project. The old Majestic Theatre had been demolished several years earlier and the site was suitable for some sort of central focal point for the city. It was decided to build a performance centre, a sunken garden and pedestrian links.

Rotary's role was to raise $75000 for the project and to involve business houses and individuals to make donations and have pavers and plaques set into the pavement as a permanent record.
